What: Eastover-Central Elementary School of Arts will host a school-wide celebration to commemorate receiving the prestigious National Blue Ribbon School Award
When: Monday, December 10, 2018

Why: Recently, Eastover-Central Elementary School of Arts was recognized in Washington, DC by the U.S. Department of Education as one of 349 schools across the nation to receive the coveted National Blue Ribbon School distinction.
Additional Information: 

  • The celebration will be a fun, upbeat and exciting event complete with presentations to staff and students, a drumline performance and an opportunity to chat with teachers and staff.
  • The honor of being a National Blue Ribbon School is bestowed upon “Exemplary High Performing” schools that have their state’s highest achieving students (the top 15 percent) as measured by state assessments. Eastover-Central was one of 349 schools recognized across the country and one of only eight schools recognized in North Carolina.
  • The coveted National Blue Ribbon School award affirms the hard work of educators, families, and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging and engaging content.
